Montebelli’s farm spreads over 100 hectares of gently undulating terrain.
It enjoys the nearness of the sea but it is protected from its salinity by a high hill thus we a perfect setting for our grapes and olives.

The whole farm is organic since 20 years, and since then year after year the no longer poisoned farm saw the insects, the birds and the animals come back.

We have two distinct wine yards, Zampinaio and Giannino both of 8 hectares and both DOC Monteregio Massa Marittima. Zampinaio grows only Sangiovese whilst Giannino grows Sangiovese, Sirah and Montepulciano.

The harvesting which takes place usually in the second half of September is done manually to preserve the integrity of the grapes. The guests are invited to participate and share with us this moment of happiness.

We also have 3600 olive trees spread all over the farm. They remind us of ancient times and they are a pleasure to look at. The harvest takes place in November and is done partially by mechanical means and partially by hand.

We also have 30 hectares of “macchia mediterranea” (Mediterranean flora) that is home to a lot of birds and animals (pheasant, partridges, hoopoe, foxes, wild boar, and small family of fawns - very difficult to see but they are here).

As per EU instructions we have planted 6 hectares of forest trees: they are still small but they are growing.

Our horses and ponies are free to roam around the farm with the exclusion of the wine yard.

The oak tree stands on the highest point of the farm and, with its great views and fresh breeze, is a perfect meditation spot.
